Requirements for Boarding
March 1, 2018
The following are the vaccinations that we require along with a brief explanation. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate contacting us. All vaccinations must be administered by a licensed Veterinarian or their Veterinary Technician.
VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
Parvo/Distemper: This can be a one year or three year vaccination.
Rabies: This can be either a one or three year vaccination and must be administered by a licensed Veterinarian
Bordatella: We require that the Bordatella (canine cough) be current within SIX MONTHS of boarding.
Canine Influenza: This is a new requirement since cases have been reported in Washoe County. We’ve attached information from Animal Emergency and Specialty Center re: this respiratory disease. The vaccine covers serotypes H3Nn8 and H3N2. Vaccinating for Canine Flue requires 2 vaccinations 2-4 weeks apart. Pets are not “protected” by viral antibodies until approximately 2 weeks after the booster.
Much like the human flu, dogs may be susceptible during the vaccine period as well as after the full series. After the initial series, this vaccination is an annual booster.
We require copies of all vaccination records.
